Classy BBW Ladies are Back in Style

Every person has their own personal vision of “sexy”. The idea of “sexy” is therefore somewhat slippery by nature, since the ideals are based on personal opinion of individuals. Social mores change, and with that change comes a shift in what it is that is considered to be a sexy person. Sex, for most of the twentieth century, was considered to be a topic that should not be discussed in polite company. The film industry coupled with the Victorian era taboos on sex, were a one – two punch that profoundly shifted the perceptions of society.  Big Screen sirens were usually more willowy than most other women for their time. The reason was simple; cameras add pounds to anyone’s form, so movie stars tended to were slimmer in real life to look normal in film.  The frequent public exposure of these sex symbols gradually helped to shift the social view of sexy from voluptuous to thin.

Throughout history, voluptuous women were preferentially sought out by men. Larger women were valued as being more fruitful, and men flocked to them to preserve their “line”. Even in during the last ice age, small figurines usually depicted their goddesses as voluptuous women and in most cases these statuettes were more fat than just curvy Even 50,000 years ago, figurines that have been unearthed have shown that larger women were considered to be mother figures and the embodiment of life. During the last ice age, cave dwelling people in Europe created figurines of large women goddesses. Their ideal of the embodiment of a fruitful and renewing life. In the play “Fiddler on the Roof”, which is a story about Russian peasant society at the turn of the twentieth century, one of the songs depicts a rich man's wife as having a “proper double chin”. It is recognition of the fact that throughout history, and in most societies today, except western culture, being large is considered a status symbol because it shows that you have plenty to eat and therefore must be a good provider.

Towards the end of the twentieth century, there has been a lot of immigration from many various world cultures into north America. With these cultures have also come the more traditional preference for larger families and women who will bear larger families.  BBW women are back in vogue. Over the next few years, you will start to see a gradual shift to fuller figured women in Hollywood as well. Mae West was very voluptuous, but in the early 20;s and 30;s she was most men’s wet dream.

Society is undergoing another shift so that skinny boy figures are less acceptable and voluptuous naturally endowed women are back in fashion. With plastic surgery, big boobs are back in style, even on skinny women. Push up bras, even some with triple padding, are hot selling items among younger ladies, but when their male companions see them naked on, the jig (jug?) is up.  Many men have been disappointed to find mountains becoming mole hills when they get past first base.  Men are discovering that a more voluptuous woman will never let down their expectations.  Voluptuous is back in style and BBW women are hanging 10, riding the curl!
